Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian who scored a total of 10 at the Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi, who later became a Romanian Gymnastics Coach, met Comaneci when she was just seven years old. She began competing in the national junior championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She was the winner in 1970. In 1972, in an international meet of communist country junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she bagged three gold awards. In 1973 and 1974 she became the overall junior champion. She won four gold and one silver in her senior debut international competition and was held in the year 1975. It was the first time that she competed as an adult. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars by using an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her first professional work was in entertainment during her teens, when she appeared in the figure skating duo of her older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her professional career in the entertainment business as a teenager. When she was a young girl Carol was an ice figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatized ice skating spectacles.
